The opening round of the Portuguese Enduro Championship took place in Gois where Diogo Ventura claimed overall honours.
Newly mounted Honda rider Ventura kicked off his 2017 season with the outright win in his national championships.
Ventura — fifth overall for Gas Gas in 2016 Junior EnduroGP — topped the classification by one minute and 34 seconds. He also won the Elite 2 category.
Showing no signs of weariness from Dakar, Goncalo Reis (KTM) was both runner-up overall and in Elite 2.
Now a familiar face in the Portuguese series, Spain’s Lorenzo Santolino brought his Sherco home third overall while taking victory in the Elite 1 class.
The series continues with round 2 in Valpacos on February 18/19, the only two-day of the series.
