It was Gas Gas rider Goncalo Reis and Yamaha’s Luis Correia that topped the standings at round two of the Polisport AJP Portuguese Enduro Championship in Torres Vedras near Lisbon.
With the second round of the championship taking place at the same venue as the EWC GP of Portugal next May, it offered the organising club ECO Motor the perfect opportunity to use the event as an all important shakedown. Situating the paddock at the town’s Exhibition Centre, the 132 competitors entered faced a challenging 32 km loop containing three special tests – Enduro, Cross and Extreme that would be ridden four times.
Continuing on from his victory at the season opener in Gois, Gas Gas mounted Goncalo Reis once again topped the Elite 1 classification. Injured at round one, Paulo Felicia wasted little time in getting up to speed and finished second with Fabio Pereira in third.
In Elite 2 Yamaha’s Luis Correia continues to lead the way as he claimed yet another victory beating Diago Ventura (Husqvarna) and Mario Patrao (Suzuki).
