Back then the World Enduro Championship, not the Enduro World Championship as it’s officially know today, started in snowy Sweden before round two took the series to Spain. BMW officially entered enduros #1 series, current E3 championship leader Christophe Nambotin raced for Gas Gas, Simone Albergoni headed UFO Yamaha’s E1 class assault, while Stefan Merriman led Aprilia’s twin-cylinder team… how things have changed!
