Following his devastating injury during day one of the Enduro World Championship at the GP of Portugal, HM Honda’s Simone Albergoni returns to action at the EWC this weekend...

As the EWC heads to the GP of Italy in Castiglion Fiorentino for round five of the championship, Albergoni is keen to take his place on the Enduro 1 start line. Now recovered from his broken elbow that he sustained in a crash on the opening cross test on day one in Portugal, the HM Honda rider is happy to get his season back on track.

"After my injury at the GP of Portugal I could not train as I wanted, but in the last two weeks I feel prepared for the GP of Italy and I’m motivated to do well,” explains a satisfied Simone.

With promising results during the recent round of the Italian enduro championship, Simone is determined to use this success as the motivation needed to secure a good result at his home Grand Prix in front of his team, family and friends.

“In the Italian Championship I got some good results, but recognize that we still have some improvements to make. I have already raced in Castiglione Fiorentino, and feel that these tracks are among my favourites due to their technical nature. I’m excited to be back racing in time for my home race and I’ll give it 100 per cent to return to the podium. Doing that would take small revenge from the misfortunes I’ve had.”
