Spain’s Jordi Villadoms enjoyed an almost perfect day during stage two of the Sardegna Rally Race in Sardinia to grab the day’s win and take control of the overall standings. Villadoms, who set the pace during the early morning special test now leads the rally for the first time in his career.
Chasing Villadoms home for second, KTM’s Marc Coma moves one place up the standings at the end of stage two and now sits five minutes and 29 seconds behind the leader.
As leader at the end of stage one, Allessandro Botturi was first to start stage two. Although fast throughout most of the day, some small navigation errors hampered his day and pushed his back down the order into third.

After a frustrating start to day one, Yamaha’s Helder Rodrigues recovered strongly to move into fourth position in the overall standings.
Spain’s Gerard Farres (KTM) had another solid day to end the stage in fifth overall.
Finishing 12th on stage one, rally legend Stephane Peterhansel (Yamaha) moves to ninth place overall.
With stage two part of the marathon stage, riders must wait until the end of the opening special test on stage three before they can avail of mechanical assistance.
