The covers are off as Bordone Ferrari unveils their Italian bred Mi 1 rally bike…

Using the Italian round of the Enduro World Championship as the location to launch the team's new race bike, the Italian born outfit are fast becoming a team to be reckoned with.

Called Mi1, the new Bordone-Ferrari Moto Italiana Rally identifies the first Bordone-Ferrari mechanical achievement as well as the key to enter a world made of skills and feelings got together in a project.

The Mi1 is a racing purebred, built to reach aims with no compromises. In the same time it's a great example of adaptability to an almost endless series of technical and technological bonds.

The Mi1 is a complete collection of choices and advanced theorical updates, subdued to Renato Ferrari's inputs. These choices and updates are organized and balanced thanks to the experience of the technical staff that works to build this bike.

The best available materials as well as the most suitable technologies have been used to optimize the efficiency. The frame, designed by Fernando Prades, it's a tubular frame made from chrome Molybdenum steel and it's been designed on the geometries of a revolutionary motorcycle which is able to offer the manageability needed in the most critical situations as well as a great solidity and safety.

The engine has been made by TM, on Bordone-Ferrari's recommendations, and takes advantages from the experience in the Enduro, Superbikes and Rallies scenes of the company from Pesaro of the Serafini brothers.

It has a top strength and gives a new and efficient supply curve. The innovation is also in the suspensions, expecially in the rear, which includes a new fork and a kinematic mechanism with progressive rising rate that uses an innovative Donerre mono shock absorber.

The encumbrance imposed by the cyclistic characteristics of the Mi1 structure have been optimized for a better balance of the weights and the center of the mass of the motorbike.

Studies of ergonomics and aerodynamics have been applied to the "raw"result to make a new efficient and comfortable bike, easy to drive and not too tiring. The next step, that recalls one of the original contributions of the Renato Ferrari's project, has put together all the functional characteristics of the Mi1 in a "shell" inspired by the unavoidable aesthetic values of the Moto Italiana.

The line of the Mi1 has been developed by the designer Rodolfo Frascoli, while the architect Luca Mattavelli has been in charge of graphic and chromatic choices. Because the Mi1 has to be a bike which wins and also a beautiful bike.

A dream that took a year to come real and, finally, its fulfillment that can be now admired and touched.
