It’s show and tell in sunny Spain as the mighty Swedish manufacture Husaberg launch their 2013 offerings…

Establishing themselves as true competitors in the world of enduro, Husaberg now proudly boast a motorcycle in every competition class with the launch of their eagerly anticipated FE 250 and FE 350 for 2013.

Enduro 1

Becoming a serious challenge in the Enduro 1 category, Husaberg now add the FE 250 4-stroke to the TE 125 in their small-bore range. The FE 250 is the first 250cc 4-stroke model to come from Swedish firm. With swift, manoeuvrable and agile traits, the FE 250 may be small but is far from tame. Offering a perfect combination of power and minimum weight, the TE 125 is once again the ultimate racing machine for the next generation of enduro riders.

Enduro 2

New to the Enduro 2 line up is the mighty FE 350. With compact engine dimensions and reduced rotating masses, the FE 350 impresses with its playful handling. A perfect middle ground for those wanting plentiful power combined with pure ridability.

Returning to the conventional engine setup while benefiting from state-of-the-art 4-stroke technology, the FE 450 sees an impressive 2kg weight reduction for 2013. With a light engine housed in a perfectly packaged chassis, the FE 450 remains one of the easiest handling 450cc enduro bikes.

Maintaining their 2-stoke connection within the Enduro 2 range, the popular TE 250 continues to be the ultimate alternative to 4-stroke power with its lively power delivery and sharper chassis.

Enduro 3

The new FE 501 perfectly represents what Husaberg stands for – ultimate ridability without compromise. Refined to perfection since its launch in 1989, the FE 501 now punches in at an incredible 111 kg.

A proven winner, the TE 300 also receives similar upgrades to that of the TE 250. With improved chassis and superior power the TE 300 offers an unbelievable power-to-weight ration.

The chassis

From the new frame and the second generation of the polyamide subframe to the new bodywork and new WP closed-cartridge fork with patented 4-chamber technology, no stone remains unturned when it comes to the chassis.

With the new 4CS closed-cartridge fork from WP Suspension, Husaberg continues to claim their leadership when it comes to the quality of suspension and premium equipment. The new, patented 4-chamber technology ensures ultimate responsiveness and constant damping over the full suspension travel at a lower weight when compared to conventional closed-cartridge systems. In addition, the end-progression of the damping can be separately adjusted. The new fork also impresses with its user-friendliness because rebound as well as compression damping can be adjusted at the upper end of the fork legs.

- 7 mm longer WP PDS shock absorber for greater progression and better bottoming resistance

- Cooling system with fan as standard for all 4-stroke models

- Lighter wheels due to new aluminium spoke nipples

- 20mm triple clamp offset for the TE 250 and TE 300

- 300 gram lighter swingarm

- New airbox design

- Transparent fuel tanks with increased capacity for the 4-stroke models (9.5 litres)

The engines

All Husaberg engines, except for the unit of the TE 125, are equipped with reliable electric starters. Furthermore, the 2-stroke TE 250 and TE 300 models also come with a kickstarter fitted as standard.

The FE 250 and FE 350 are powered by extremely compact DOHC units, which distinguish themselves by their free-revving nature and smooth power delivery. As their bigger brothers, they are equipped with a Keihin fuel injection system with a 42 mm throttle body and integrated temperature and altitude compensation.

The engine cases for the new 450/501 engine generation are manufactured - as they are on the FE 350 - using a high-pressure die casting process, resulting in significantly reduced wall thicknesses but with the same stability. Thus, together with the weight savings on the piston, connecting rod and balancer shaft, the weight of the engine could be reduced by a whole 2 kg.

- Compact engine

- Simplified routing of the header pipe

- Lower centre of gravity of the engine and bike

- 250-gram lighter diaphragm (FE 350/450/501, TE 250/300)

- Optimised oil circuit with two oil pumps for the 4-stroke engines

- New V-Force 4 reed valve block (TE 250/300)
