Taking part in the recent Lahti Historic Rally in Finland, the Husqvarna Factory Enduro rider drove his way to an impressive second overall. Matching and at times bettering those in his class, Salminen placed just 24 seconds behind eventual winner Jere Rekola after ten stages and 143km of racing in his BMW M3.
“I hoped I would be competitive but I didn’t expect to do so well,” confirmed Juha. “Although it was my second time in the rally it was my first drive in this car but for some reason I managed to find the pace.
“It’s been fun to try something new before the focus returns to the remainder of the Enduro World Championship -that’s when the work begins again!”
With thoughts of a possible 14th world title on the horizon, Juha returns to work when the EWC resumes with the GP of Sweden on August 25/26.
