As a former competitor of the Motocross of Nations, KTM’s Mike Brown is no stranger to international success but for the member of this year’s ISDE Team USA World Trophy Team international enduro competition is still relatively new.

This year’s 87th edition of the International Six Days Enduro held in Saxony, Germany will mark the second time Brown has competed for Team USA. His debut ride came in Mexico during 2010.

“There’s no better feeling in the world than getting to represent your country,” said Brown during the opening ceremony at the Sachsenring race circuit. “I’ve been privileged to do it at the Motocross of Nations and now the ISDE.

“I’ve been really looking forward to this race all year. I had a lot of fun in Mexico and enjoyed the experience so much. It’s the only race of the season where personal championships are pushed aside and we all work together as a team – trying to do the best we can.

“During the week we walked the special tests together and worked out the best lines to take. Our goal is to reach the podium at the end of the week so every little detail like that is important for success.”

As mentioned the race will very much be a team effort but for Mike the ISDE is still a new experience.

“Even though I’m 40 years old it’s still only my second time competing so I still feel like a kid out there on the track. There are not many places in the world where you get to ride down main streets and then into a forest. I think doing crazy stuff like that is what makes the race so cool for me.”
