Now established as one of the premier events on the extreme enduro calendar, the Extreme XL Lagares race features some of the sports top riders ready to fight it out over two tough days of competition.
With victories in this year’s Hells Gate, Tough One and the Red Bull Romaniacs, along with being a former winner of the event, Jarvis starts this race as favourite for top honours.
However, with the event full to capacity and featuring the majority of the sport’s best riders, he’ll face some serious competition. As the 2011 winner of the race, Gas Gas’ Dougie Lampkin is sure to be hot on his heels. With last year’s course fresh in his mind, Lampkin will be determined to successfully defend his crown.

Behind him are two of Spain’s leading extreme enduro riders Alfredo Gomez (Husaberg) and Xavier Gallindo (Husaberg). Both riders filled out the remainder of the podium positions in 2011 and each will be keen to place at least one spot higher this weekend.
For Germany’s Andreas Lettenbichler (Husqvarna) last years event ended in disaster when he was forced to retire on the second lap. As one of the few riders to challenge Jarvis in the recent Red Bull Romaniacs, Lettenbichler will be eager to rectify the mistakes he made 12 months ago.
Adding in the Hemmingway brothers of Ben and Dan who finished third and seventh in the 2012 Red Bull Erzberg Rodeo, Paul Bolton (KTM) winner of the recent Hard Enduro in Romania, Goncalo Reis (Gas Gas), Xavier Leon (Husaberg), Andrew Reeves (KTM) along with both Gary and Jane Daniels and it’s easy to see why this year’s event is set to be the best yet.
