After a five-month summer break the second half of the ONK Dutch Enduro Championship resumed with round four of the series in Havelte.
Leading into the event, heavy overnight rain ensured the course conditions would be anything but favourable. With some parts of the liaison sections becoming water logged, organisers were forced to cancel the second special test at the end of the opening lap.
Highly motivated following his strong performance at the recent ISDE in Germany, Husaberg’s Hans Vogels was intent on extending his points lead in the championship with a win. Finding a comfortable pace, Vogels quickly established himself at the head of the field and at the end of the fourth and final lap secured a healthy 50-second margin of victory.
In the Enduro 1 class, TM’s Lucas Dolfing clinched a slender five-second victory over Bass Small Haneveld with Ismo ten Velde placing third.
With Vogels topping both the overall and E2 classification, KTM’s Robin Nijkamp held off KTM’s Mark Wassink to end his day as runner up.
In the Enduro 3 standings, Bernhard van de Pol claimed the win ahead of Erwin Plekkenpol and KTM mounted Amel Advokaat.
