Making their eagerly awaited Rally debut, the Honda HRC line up of Helder Rodrigues, Felipe Zanol, Sam Sunderland, Johnny Campbell and Javier Pizzolito were officially presented in the sands of Morocco.

How they competitively fair during the next few days of racing remains to be seen, but one thing that’s certain is Honda’s addition to the sport has created quite a stir in the industry.

But with the world’s best rally riders also starting the Oilibya Rally of Morocco, they’ll be given no easy road to success. Heading the line up riders entered into this year’s race is a pairing that needs no introduction. The KTM Rally Factory Team duo of Cyril Despres and Marc Coma are poised and ready to do battle in Morocco. While final testing before bikes are shipped out to South America next month will be the main priority of concern, neither party will want to wane to each other, nor anybody else.

After their triumphant success just seven days ago in Egypt, the Husqvarna Rallye Team by Speedbrain duo of Joan Barreda and Paulo Gonclaves are another duo right on pace.

Add in Bordone Ferrari’s Jordi Villadoms and Chaleo Lopez along with Poland’s Jakub Przygonski (KTM), France’s David Fretigne (Yamaha) and Olive Pain (Yamaha) indicates just how difficult success in this year’s event will be.

Stage one of the Oilibya Rally of Morocco begins on October 15.
