One of the truly ‘new’ bikes at the EICMA international motorcycle show was Sherco’s all-new two-stroke SE250T. Taking prize of place in the centre of the Sherco stand the new from the ground up electric start only 250cc two-stroke will go into production early in 2013…

To be released some time during the first three months of next year the SE250T will be accompanied by the SE300T, which will be raced in the Enduro World Championship by Frenchman Fabien Planet in the Enduro 3 class, as Sherco’s Enduro Team Manager Jordan Curvalle explained…

“In one month we will have finished all of the testing with the new 250, and will then spend some time finalising the set-up of the 300. Some time during the first three months of 2013 both bikes will go into production. “Two of the biggest differences between the new Sherco two-stroke bikes and other, similar machines is the fact that both our 250 and 300 are electric start only, like our four strokes, and feature an electric power valve.

“Fabien Planet will race the new 300 two-stroke in the Enduro 3 class in next year’s Enduro World Championship and Jeremy Tarroux will race in the Enduro 1 class with the 250cc four-stroke. And we have also made an agreement with the Moto Pulsion team, who will race with Sherco bikes, that will see Anthony Boissiere race in E1 and Julien Gauthier in E2.

“When the two stroke is finished we will further the development of our new 450. It will be a totally new bike, which will likely be raced in some events next year. Then we plan to use it in world championship competition, and release it as a production model, in 2014...”
