Moving into the Enduro 2 class for 2012 didn’t work out as Juha or Husqvarna hoped it would, despite the vastly experienced Scandinavian claiming four day wins and placing third in the championship. For 2013 Husqvarna will ‘put their best rider on their best bike’ as Salminen and Husqvarna take on the might of reigning Enduro 1 World Champion Antoine Meo and KTM.
“This year with the TE310 everything went quite good,” explains Azzalin. “We missed our chance to fight for the title, mainly because of the stone that got stuck between Juha’s sprocket and chain in Argentina. Other than that Juha was very competitive. I saw that he won 46 tests, with Renet winning 48. It was a good season, but disappointing not to be able to fight for the #1 position.
“But Juha will race in the Enduro 1 class next season. In 2011 he had a superb year on the TE250. Now the bike is even better, that's why we decide to put our best rider on our best bike…we are sure to have more chances to fight for the title, and Juha is very motivated, too…”
