KTM’s Jonny Walker will compete in the opening round of the 2013 British Extreme Enduro Championship, which takes place at Tong Hall, near Bradford, on Saturday, January 27...

With overseas commitments initially forcing Jonny to miss the event – and ending his hopes of defending the BEEC title – a change in his schedule now allows the young Cumbrian to compete alongside Graham Jarvis, David Knight and many more of Britain’s extreme enduro racers.

“I’m really pleased that I’m now able to compete in the extreme championship,” told Walker.

“Tong Hall isn’t a track where I’ve enjoyed too much success in the past, but I’ll do all I can to change that this time around. Jarvis and Knight are both going to be pushing hard to win, so I’m looking forward to racing against them both.”

As the defending BEEC champion Jonny heads to Tong having placed as runner-up at the recent Tough One event. Placing on the podium at each of the extreme enduro events he’s entered since June 2011, Jonny is again hoping to mix speed with consistency and deliver another top three result.

“I’m much better prepared than I was 12 months ago, and in much better shape, so I’m really looking forward to it. Finishing second at The Tough One Hard Enduro was a good start to the season, but I’m really motivated to put in a better performance at Tong and see if I can get my first win of 2013.”
