Following his impressive performances at the opening round of the 2012 Spanish Enduro Championship, where he placed third in the Enduro 3 class and 13th overall, British rider Danny McCanney has signed a three-year contract with the Girona based company that will see him race aboard Gas Gas machinery until the end of 2014.
Agreeing terms with Gas Gas in December for a one-year deal the Spanish manufacturer liked what they saw at the opening round of the Spanish Enduro Championship, which added to his already impressive list of British and European Championship successes has been enough to convince them that he was a talent to hold on to.
Danny will take to the start of his first full season of Enduro World Championship competition in a few weeks when the EWC series arrives in Chile. Competing in the Enduro Junior class aboard a 300cc two-stroke, despite his relative lack of international experience – he’s raced just one EWC event so far – the Manx rider will certainly be one to watch.
