angus mcdonald new zealand enduro champion 2017 840

Sherco mounted Angus McDonald has won the 2017 New Zealand Enduro Championship.

The 19-year-old was one of the favourites for the title having led the series from the opening round.

Despite not taking victory at the sixth and final round in Groombridge, McDonald’s fourth was still more than enough to get the job done.

Adding to the occasion, Angus’ younger brother Hamish made it a McDonald 1-3 coming home third overall.

No strangers to us here at enduro21, the McDonald brothers are rapidly rising to the fore having place 2-3 at the 2016 Red Bull Romaniacs.

With a busy summer in Europe planned, the duo will tackle next week’s ErzbergRodeo before heading to Romania as track managers for the Red Bull Romaniacs.
