For 2016 the TM Racing range sees some beneficial changes adopted throughout the models. These include some chassis’ changes and some smaller engine and technical changes designed to further enhance the recent chassis and engine developments released with the 2015 models.

With a multitude of exceptional materials, quality machining and treated parts matched to a huge number of machined aluminium and high quality parts, TM Racing motorcycles are constructed to a near ‘factory’ machine specification list, albeit designed for the retail consumer.

The larger capacity 2-stroke and 4-stroke machines had some incredible changes in 2015 with the biggest, and most notable, being the new air intake systems and the ‘reverse’ fuel tank on the Fi models, all of which again feature on the 2016 model ranges.

This revolutionary intake system on the 2-stroke chassis, which features on all models for 2016, allows the engine to breath cleaner and fresher air inducted from around the fuel tank area. It also helps to reduce contamination by controlling the intake of air from a ‘cleaner’ source. The ‘Fresh Air’ system allows for an increase in the engine performance by creating a better flow of ‘clean’ air into the engine, creating greater response and more power for a greater duration.

With a large volume air filter being fitted to maximise the systems potential, the immediate performance gain is also sustained for a much greater period of time, even in the harshest conditions, conditions where a normal filtration system would have begun to become less efficient as a filter with a smaller surface area, breathing in a dirtier environment, becomes saturated with particulates at a faster rate. A contaminated and ‘clogged’ filter also increases the chances of particulates by-passing the filter and entering the engine, with the TM Racing ‘Fresh Air’ system this ‘risk’ is reduced and high performance is maintained.

For 2016 the ‘Fresh-Air’ system receives an update in the form a new fuel tank that gives an even larger intake area for the filter box, increasing air flow yet further, with the inclusion of a new ‘optional’ part that will suit the Enduro model range, the availability of a larger 12 Litre fuel tank.

The introduction of the ‘Fresh-Air’ system also brought another added advantage in the form of a lower centre of gravity, with the fuel tank now positioned slightly further into the chassis around the engines cylinder, this ‘weight’ shift, combined with the new frame geometry, suspension linkage changes and revised shock absorber length, all working harmoniously with new fork and shock valving and internal settings, turned an already nimble chassis into one that was rated one of the best handling bikes in many tests globally.

On the 4-stroke machines all model ranges will adopt the new ‘reverse’ chassis layout, first seen on the 2015 model year machines, for 2016. The latest generation chassis layout for the 4-stroke machines will see some minor modifications for 2016 in the form of some altered fittings along with some chassis changes.

With the fuel tank now situated under the seat and the intake system air filter box now sat above the engine this new system witnessed a huge transformation to the complete range of 4-stroke model machines. With the centre of gravity lowered further into the chassis, noting that each capacity model has its own main chassis unique to that capacity engine, and with new suspension details, resulted in better handling characteristics, stability, turning and weight losses throughout the range.
