Round seven of the 2018 Italian Absolute Cup-FMI Cup / Italian Cup Maxxis Enduro took place in Bettola, Piacenza in Italy this weekend with Steve Holcombe taking another win ahead of a world class line-up.

Attracting some of the best names in World Enduro, the 2018 Italian Championship has seen the same intense battles between Steve Holcombe and Alex Salvini as we’ve been witnessing in GPs

Holcombe won the Saturday night Extreme test by just two seconds, setting the Beta factory rider up for Sunday’s main race which organisers had laid out to be one of the hardest of the 2018 season.

Three special stages: the Extreme Test, Cross Test and the Enduro Test were ridden four times totalling over an hour and twenty minutes in the tests.

Holcombe on top

After seven hours total riding time Salvini and Holcombe were separated by mere seconds again: this weekend it went the way of the Englishman, who won by only 1.83 seconds after posting strong Enduro test times. Salvini clawed time back in the Cross tests though for the nail-biting finish.

Battle for the podium

Behind the fastest two Giacomo Redondi, Brad Freeman and Matteo Cavallo battled hard for the final step of the podium. Redmoto Honda-backed Redondi came away with the trophy at the finish.
