2000 riders ready for Enduropale Le Touquet beach race this weekend

2000 riders ready for infamous Beach Race at Le Touquet this weekend – Potisek, Van Beveren, Watson and Dewulf top the entry heading for Pas Du Calais in Northern France.

2019 Championnat de France des Sables championship leader and 2018 Le Touquet winner, Milko Potisek heads the line-up of riders swamping the Northern French town of Le Touquet this weekend for the annual Enduropale.

Le Touquet serves as the final round of the French Beach Race series which has been raging since the latter months of 2018. Potisek leads but Jeffrey Dewulf is just 10 points back with Nathan Watson in third.

Watson is the rider on a roll winning the last three races in the series and surely would be at the top of the points if he hadn’t missed round two. Watson was also runner-up in 2018 and will stand as a favourite for victory this year.

Adding to the mix this year is Dakar Rally contender and former Le Touquet winner, Adrien Van Beveren also on the start line. After his mechanical failure in Peru at Dakar, Van Beveren is rumoured to have been putting in the hours for Le Touquet.

The Enduropale course is a long one in terms of beach racing at 13km. Three immense lines of riders assemble on the sea front of Le Touquet and leave in waves from 2pm.

The schedule includes Enduro Vintage classes racing on Friday January 1. Enduropale Juniors and Quaduro on Saturday from midday. Enduropale Juniors bright and early at 8:30am on Sunday  January 3, before the main event beginning 2pm on Sunday.
