First look: Acerbis K-Future Handguards for KTM and Husqvarna off road

First look at the newest Acerbis fully vented K-Future handguards – direct perch-mounted handguard designed for KTM and Husqvarna off road models.

Acerbis stands as one of oldest and most established brands in Enduro with a product line stretching across off road sport from enduro to motocross and rally.

Well-known for their plastic accessory parts range, the latest ‘Future’ handguards from the Italian manufacturer caught our eye when we spotted a set on the 2020 Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing TE300i Billy Bolt was testing out in Spain ahead of the WESS championship.

This new Acerbis open handguard design comes in two models: X-Future and K-Future with the K model featuring an innovative design bolting straight onto the Brembo and Magura brake and clutch perch.

Acerbis K-Future handguards in a nutshell:

  • Direct Mount to Brembo/Magura brake and clutch perches
  • Maximum ventilation
  • Dual-injection cover for maximum impact resistance
  • Lightweight, compact and flexible handguard
  • Flap designed to protect brake/clutch pumps
  • Mounting kit included

The X-Future handguards are pretty similar in design concept to the K-Future: an open hand guard with universal fixing. Lightweight, compact and flexible Acerbis say the Future is designed to protect the brake and clutch pumps and are adjustable horizontally in two different positions.

The range of colours for the X-Future model is greater naturally because it is designed for a broader range of manufacturers so there’s something for most colour bikes in there.

The K-Factor is more specific to KTM and Husqvarna so the range at present fits the colours of those two brands from Austria. (X-Future mount system shown below).
