Yamaha mounted Dimitris Vaggelakos topped the overall standings at the opening round of the Greek Enduro Championship in Lagadas.
Switching to the Enduro 2 class on the new WR450F for 2016, the INA TV Yamaha Worksbike Enduro Team rider made a winning start to the series that kicked off in northern Greece.
Posting the fastest time in three out of the eight tests, Vaggelakos won a tight battle with KTM’s Alexis Zoras, who eventually claimed the runner-up position.
Honda’s Michalis Ntouzenis was third in the overall and second in Enduro 1 behind class winner Zoras.
Winning the first test for the day Beta’s Giannis Trigas had to settle for fourth overall.
On his new Husqvarna FE 250 Panagiotis Kakoliris was fifth overall with Beta mounted Kimon Karampelas rounding up the top six.
The six-round long series will continue with round two in Veria on April 10.
