2020 SuperEnduro final in Poland cancelled this weekend

FIM SuperEnduro World Championship 2020 title decider in Lodz, Poland this weekend has been cancelled due to Coronavirus.

Breaking news this morning as the organisers of the SuperEnduro World Championship have been forced to call off the final round of 2020 in Poland scheduled for this coming weekend, March 14.

A statement from the SuperEnduro World Championship promoters says “Regional Authorities of Lodz have decided to cancel all the mass events”. It is unclear at the moment, in the fluid and difficult situation with the Coronavirus outbreak, if the final round of 2020 will be postponed or cancelled.

Enduro21 understands the event itself would also likely have been a major issue for race teams and riders facing difficulties travelling as the situation evolves across the Europe.

Due to travel and border control restrictions across different European countries, it is understood the attendance of the Italian-based KTM Factory team and riders Taddy Blazusiak and Jonny Walker was already in question before the announcement from the Polish organisers.

The statement from SuperEnduro Promoters, ABC:

It is fair to say that Europe is being hit hard by the Covid-19 for the past few months now. Many sporting events have been postponed or cancelled….

This is the case of the last round of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship which was supposed to be held this Saturday 14th of march, at the Atlas Arena in Lodz in Poland.

Under the menace of the Coronavirus, this Tuesday, the Regional Authorities of Lodz has decided to cancel all the mass events that were supposed to happen in the city this weekend and for the coming weeks.

The SuperEnduro is now the next championship to be affected by the Coronavirus.

Further information will be given soon to confirm if the event is definitely cancelled or if it will be rescheduled.
