Yamaha look set to up increase their presence with the introduction of a new Enduro 2 team in the Enduro World Championship for 2016.
Following the introduction of the WR450F to their line-up, there will be a separate French-run E2 team of two riders competing alongside the already established Yamaha Miglio Team, who’ll continue to oversee Yamaha’s Enduro 1 efforts.
The funky named “Yamaha Outside Official Enduro Team” will be based in France with Marc Bourgeois acting as team manager.
Stepping down as a full time rider in the EWC, the very experienced Bourgeois will handle operations for Yamaha’s Enduro 2 effort.
Although not yet officially confirmed, it’s believed that the two riders will be Loic Larrieu and Cristobal Guerrero.
Guerrero - E2 runner-up in 2012 - moves across from Miglio to the Enduro 2 team.
Rising talent Larrieu - French E2 champion in 2015 - looks set to join Yamaha after a solid season with Sherco where he placed fifth overall in E2 with two podium result in the 2015 EWC series.
