Salvini and Charlier Join RedMoto Honda for 2019

Honda RedMoto make serious signings ahead of the 2019 EnduroGP season with Alex Salvini and Christophe Charlier joining the Red team.

Busy times over the Christmas and New Year holidays have seen a number of riders change teams in the Enduro World Championship. None more so than at RedMoto Honda who welcome Italian Alex Salvini and Frenchman Christophe Charlier under the Red Wing.

Salvini had a return to form in 2018 but was ultimately let down by mechanical issues and it comes as little surprise he has returned to the manufacturer which brought him such success during 2013-2015 seasons.

Salvini back on a Honda

Alex Salvini announced the switch back to Honda on his Instagram account on New Year’s Day and it has since been confirmed he will race in a one-man team, again under the RedMoto awning.

Salvini is no stranger to a Honda, not least when he made the jump from MXGP to World Enduro and took the 2013 E2 World title. He followed that with runners-up places in E2 during 2014 and 2015.

Salvo will race EnduroGP and Assoluti D’Italia on the CRF450RX Enduro with Team Sembenini.

Three Honda Teams

Splitting into three camps under the same Honda RedMoto wing, all will race the Enduro World Championship and Assoluti D’Italia (Italian Championship).

The official Honda RedMoto World Enduro Team will field Frenchman Christophe Charlier and Thomas Oldrati (below left and right respectively).

Oldrati will race the 250 4T class in Assoluti D’Italia and E1 in the Enduro World Championship on the CRF250RX. Charlier will race in the E2 class with the CRF450RX.

Under the same RedMoto wing, Gianni Belloni’s Honda RedMoto Lunigiana Racing team will field Davide Guarneri and David Soreca.

As a footnote long-time RedMoto rider, Giacomo Redondi looks set to replace Salvini at JET Zanardo on the 450 Husqvarna in the Italian Championship and selected WESS events.

Meanwhile, here’s David Soreca giving a Honda the berries in the snow…
