He's back! Five-time World Enduro Champion Antoine Meo set to return to world-class enduro with the Honda Racing RedMoto team.
Thanks to the support of RedMoto, Meo will return to traditional enduro competition onboard a Honda CRF 450RX Enduro machine. Antoine has said the deal with RedMoto does not reprasent a return to full-time World Championship action but he will compete major French races including Trefle Lozerien AMV, round two of the Wold Enduro Super Series in May. Meo could well take on a couple of EnduroGP rounds and has also mentioned plans to race the ISDE for a club team in Portugal.
The 34-year-old Frenchman, who originally made his mark in motocross, spent his first year in World Enduro in 2008 - two years later he had won his first world championship. Five world titles later, a switch to cross-country rallies saw him complete two Dakar Rallies with a best finish of fourth in 2018.
“I’m back to enduro thanks to Matteo Boffelli and Honda-RedMoto," told Meo. "Boffelli’s team is young and so motivated, with good technicians ready to give their best both in race and in practice. Racing with Honda colours is a source of great pride and satisfaction for me. I can't wait to start: I'm happy to work with Charlier and Oldrati. I hope to race a great season."
RedMoto Team Manager Matteo Boffelli is looking forward to working with the French star.
"2018 has been a very important year for the team, who has a great growth," explains Boffelli. "It’s a great honour have Antoine Meo in our team and this make us to do better and better. We can improve a lot thanks to his experience in order to reach the objectives we work for."
