Honda pairing of Giacomo Redondi and Davide Soreca are busy prepping for the opening round of the EnduroGP World Championship and already have some studded tyre racing done in Finland.
Contesting the eighth edition of the Karkkilian, 80 kilometres northwest of Helsinki, the Italian pairing took part in an enduro sprint event.
Adjusting well, Redondi placed third overall and third in Enduro 2.
“It was an important competition because we will race with winter tyres at the first EnduroGP round in Finland,” told Redondi.
“I improved the feeling with my Honda-RedMoto CRF 450RX Enduro. Racing on snow and ice is completely different to our ground. Third position is a good starting point, now we will remain a few more days in Finland go on training before come back home”.
Close behind in fourth overall, Soreca also won the Enduro 1 category…
“I’m very happy because I did an incredible race winning my class. I was fast and I tried to stay in the first position always pushing, because I knew that the home riders are used to racing on snow and ice.
“This is my second victory on the snow after the success in the Winter Wheels in Pratonevoso and it bodes well for the new season”.
