KTM double their line up for extreme enduro in 2016 by announcing Alfredo Gomez will join Jonny Walker under their awning.
Making the move from Husqvarna to KTM, Gomez will look to build on a strong 2015 Hard Enduro season that saw him win the Extreme Lagares in Portugal and podium at The Tough One and Red Bull Romaniacs while also sharing victory at Erzberg.
Heading KTM’s Hard Enduro efforts is of course Jonny Walker. Pretty much dominating things this year, Walker will have his sights set on keeping that momentum rolling in 2016.
Gomez and Walker plus Taylor Robert will join Taddy Blazusiak in the SuperEnduro series, which begins next month in Lodz, Poland we’ll see them in action in just three weeks time.
Aiming for his seventh world crown, Blazusiak headlines KTM’s SuperEnduro effort. In 2016 Blazusiak will also make a return to the AMA EnduroCross Championship after one years absence.
Pit Beirer, KTM’s Motorsport Director confirmed…
“Our SuperEnduro and Extreme Enduro riders Taddy Blazusiak, Jonny Walker and Alfredo Gomez are in a class of their own. Taylor Robert comes to us from the US with a strong EnduroCross background and will race SuperEnduro and also classic Enduros in the EWC. Especially the SuperEnduro and Extreme Enduro disciplines bring the sport much closer to the public and it’s exciting to see how they are gaining in popularity.”
