Billy Bolt has taken the first major hard enduro victory of his career today at Extreme XL Lagares, round one of the 2018 World Enduro Super Series.

Jonny Walker led for much of today’s extreme race but as the super-fast pair caught the lapped riders in the incredibly slippery Lagares riverbeds on their second lap, Bolt muscled his way in to the lead. Bolt finished just over one minute clear of Walker at the finish.

Manuel Lettenbichler was another rider taking a major race ‘first’, his first podium which has been on the cards for a while. Letti was battling with Graham Jarvis and Cody Webb during the first lap (Pro riders complete two) but pulled clear on the second.

In fourth was a revved-up Taddy Blazusiak. Starting in 43rd place this morning after poor prologue and Endurocross, Taddy had plenty of overtaking to get done but bagged fourth and valuable WESS points.

The top six of Bolt, Walker, Lettenbichler, Blazusiak, Jarvis and Webb were a chunk clear of the rest today in tough riding conditions.
