Mario Roman victorious at the Red Bull Los Andes 2018 extreme enduro in Chile.
In dry and dusty conditions, more than 200 riders tackled Red Bull Los Andes this weekend. Billed as “the most difficult enduro race in Chile” at Nido de Cóndores began with a prologue inside a shopping centre.
The main event consisted more than two hours of racing around the spectacular mountain terrain where Mario Román took the win in the ‘super expert’ class.
Marion Roman came home in first place ahead of Sherco Factory Racing team-mate Wade Young, making it another succesful extreme event for Sherco in 2018. Former Los Andes winner and Chilean national champion, Benjamin Herrera fought hard in front of the large crowd to take the third step on the podium.
Track director, Francisco Chaleco López put together a harder course than previous years at Los Andes, with much more technical and complicated elements testing riders – particularly some savage hill climbs which were popular with the spectators lining the route.
