Mario Roman has signed up for two more years with Sherco Racing – Extreme Enduro specialist extends his contract to the 2020 season end.
Winning the first two major Extreme Enduro events of the 2018 season, the Alestrem and Hells Gate events, Mario Roman’s year began strongly aboard the Factory Sherco 300 SE. Roman went on to win the Battle of the Vikings in Sweden for the second year in a row along with wins at two major Iberian Extreme Enduros, Gordexola and Hixpania.
Mario clearly likes to travel, especially in South America where in 2018 he won the Red Bull Los Andes in Chile, and more recently he won the famous Ukupacha Extreme in Ecuador.
Roman is one of the major players in the Extreme Enduro, always a contender and will no doubt look to add podium places (at least) next season at the major events like Romaniacs, Erzbergrodeo and XL Lagares where it must be said some bad luck prevented the Spaniard from better results in 2018.
Mario is also a well-travelled ambassador for Sherco, running training schools around many parts of the world and clearly works for his factory Sherco ride: “I am very proud and happy to have resigned with Sherco, our relationship is really good, we are growing, and we are constantly improving together.
“I cannot wait to continue to bring good results to the team and continue the training camps which we have launched with our importers. I look forward to January 18th for the launch of the season at Alestrem!”
“It is a pleasure to announce the extension of Mario's contract,”says team amanager Jordan Curvalle. “He will be with us for the next two seasons, he has brought us a lot of success and we will continue to work to continue this dynamic! Mario has just finished a long season with 8 wins, but 2019 is almost here with the Alestrem where he will have the number 1 plate to defend! " J. Curvalle
