Toni Bou takes the 2019 TrialGP World Championship and his 13th consecutive TrialGP World Championship in France – his 26th in total.
Repsol Honda riding trials legend, Toni Bou took his 13th consecutive world trials title at the TrialGP of France, round six of the 2019 FIM Trial World Championship, at the Alpine resort of Auron.
The victory with a round to spare in the 2019 season, takes Bou’s tally of consecutive titles to 13 in TrialGP, in addition to the 13 X-Trial indoor trophies for 26 FIM World Championship titles in total.
“There is no better way to win a new title than with a victory and with good feelings.” Said Bou at the French GP finish.
“It was a short but intense world championship. I think that this season we have matured a lot. Last year we had so many injuries, this year we have been very comfortable on the bike, which we’ve seen reflected in the wins and the riding, so now it's time to savour the moment and enjoy the holidays.”
No-one else comes close to Bou in trials and it doesn’t look like he is slacking off anytime soon – it’d be great to see him take on an extreme enduro though right?
The 2019 TrialGP series now takes a break before reconvening at La Nucia for TrialGP of Spain, the final round of the series, on September 21-22.
