The 2020 Portuguese Hard Enduro Series (PHES) kicked off this past weekend, January 12, with the Sobreira Extreme. Running next to Porto, the Portuguese Hard Enduro Mecca, the riders tackled many of the sections used in Extreme XL Lagares.
After bagging the prologue, Luis Silva went on to dominate the gruelling three-hour hard enduro, which sees him taking early lead at the 2020 PHES. Silva and his teammate Ni Esteves, second, where the only two riders to complete four laps on the 18 kilometres course.
2019 four stroke class PHES winner, Ricardo Parente, made the jump to the Pro class in 2020 and grabbed the last podium spot.
The Portuguese Hard Enduro Series will be back next month, February 9, with the Extreme Gondomar, which will also mark the starting point of the 2020 Copa Iberica.
