Cody Webb rocketed his FactoryONE Sherco SE 300 Factory to a winning ride first time out at king of Motos – we’ve taken a closer look at his new ride for 2020.
Winning the 2020 King of the Motos, round one of the new AMA West Extreme Enduro Championship, his first major outing with the FactoryONE Sherco SE 300 Factory was some debut for Cody Webb.
It was also some debut for the SE 300 Factory Sherco he’s switched to in 2020. Cody has already expressed how he’s gelled with the Sherco from the start but to transfer that to a race result proves the FactoryONE team and Webb have things dialled.
What about the bike though? What are the details that caught our eye about Webb’s new ride?
Extreme enduro takes a beating on the bikes and FactoryONE have focused in adding extra protection to Cody’s bike and making it comfortable for the tall guy. That includes details like Bullet Proof Designs radiator guards, Arc Levers (lighter and unbreakable) and XC Gear Mako 360 bar clamp.
FactoryONE say they have left the chassis and engine well alone except to run the FunnelWeb air filter and a Rekluse clutch.
A P3 carbon skidplate and linkage protector keeps the engine and rear suspension safe and the extended protection for the water pump and between the brake lever and the engine.
Topar Racing Protection takes care of the brake disc protection with a front carbon guard and a tougher rear aluminium guard.
To avoid the risk of damaging a radiator in the rocky terrain at the KOM FactoryONE fitted Bullet Proof Designs aluminium guards to Cody’s Sherco. There’s no protection for the FMF exhaust pipe and it took some damage at KOM:
A common modification on tall rider’s bikes are lowered footpegs and Webb has a pair from Flo Motorsport with extra-long teeth for added grip.
The stock front suspension is replaced by a pair of A-kit Kayaba forks tuned by The Ride Shop, who have applied a striking 'Kashima Coating'.
