Confirmed, Johnny Aubert will return to racing in 2018 with Gas Gas.
After last week reporting that Aubert was strongly linked to the Spanish manufacturer for 2018, today, October 24, Gas Gas themselves announced the news.
Describing it as a “luxury reinforcement”, Aubert will ride out of the Gas Gas Factory Team awning at French classic enduros and a national series, which one is yet to be confirmed.
Aubert will race their new Gas Gas EC300.
After a year’s break from racing the 37-year-old is pleased to have inked a two-year deal with the firm…
“I am very excited to be putting in the cornerstone of this house in the renewal of the brand and demonstrate the qualities of their motorcycles to the Gas Gas enthusiasts.
“I am sure that this is the beginning of a great adventure between us.”
We wonder if that adventure will include any steps into rally.
Gas Gas also mention in their release, that a definitive sports program will be announced after the EICMA show in Milan, early November.
We expect then news of a Christophe Nambotin signing to be made official.
