Enduro21 takes a closer look at K-Tech’s ProValve re-valve suspension kits designed to not just upgrade but “completely transform” how your off-road bike handles.

Developed from the ground up with input from elite riders like Jonny Walker and Tommy Searle, ProValve is designed for easy installation and to deliver what K-Tech describe as a precise, easily adjustable setup that translates to instant improvements on the trail or track.

We think it is fair to say many people who ride enduro and probably most who ride motocross (and everything in between) have, need or want to improve their bike setup. Motorcycles are designed with a wide range of riders in mind and of course to a budget and that means compromises in quality and more importantly performance.

Add in the key fact that we are all different, weigh different amounts and ride different places in different ways, and you can see original equipment suspension on an off-road motorcycle has an impossible task to please everyone.

What is ProValve?

K-Tech ProValve is the ORVS (Off-Road Valve System) some will be familiar with renamed to give more clear it is a fork and shock re-valving product for competition.

The fork kits are designed to replace the stock compression and rebound damping assemblies, along with the adjustment needles and top caps with a higher tolerance, refined and engineered replacement.

K-Tech say ProValve removes the harshness and limited range the original mass produced equipment brings. The ProValve comes ready assembled for easier installation and tuning as we offer 3 set-up options which will give good starting points but also allows for further tuning if required.

What’s in the kits?

The K-Tech ProValve front fork kit replaces your stock compression and rebound damping

Assemblies – including adjustment needles and top caps – giving you more adjustability and control of your bike setup. The rear shock ProValve swaps in a high-precision piston that delivers a significantly more progressive, supple feel, K-Tech say.

Each kit has the option of pre-dialled-in base settings tailored to your riding style based on K-Tech’s knowledge of riding type, bike, rider weight and more information provided by you which they say eliminates the endless online research or confusing setup guides.

Just bolt it in, set it, and feel the difference from the first ride and then continue to fine-tune.

K-Tech ProValve kits have been designed so that experienced suspension technicians can install and then further fine tune to dial in the most precise set-up.

However, “non-specialist technicians” (that’s the rest of us) can also installing the ProValve, they say, due to its more ‘plug and play’ design over other suspension re-valve kits. Enduro21 would add that applies to the fork kit and not so much the shock absorber which requires additional equipment beyond the reach of most home mechanics.
