Acerbis expands its range of accessories for adventure bikes with new ADV handguards designed specifically for maxi enduro use, from light off-road riding to technical rally events.

A first-hand experience using the Acerbis handguards at the 2025 Red Bull Romaniacs taught us anything it is that these things are tough.

They took a relentless beating from notorious event which proved to be as enjoyable as it was hard, an event which emphasised how much the ends of the handlebars are the part of our bike which hits the ground the most.

The wrap-around style Acerbis ADV handguards have been updated with a new design, larger deflectors and are perfectly suited to the types of bikes which proved popular in the new Adventure bike classes at Romaniacs, the CFMOTO 450 and 800 and the Yamaha Tenere.

The emphasis here is on making them look good on an ADV bike but crucially be tough enough to cope with the new trend for taking adventure bikes into “maxi enduro” bike races and rallies.

In our experience they 100% live up to that expectation.

Acerbis ADV handguards technical details

These new handguards from Acerbis feature a closed structure with a 35mm C-section Anticorodal bar and Anticorodal bracelets, which is a material they say, “guarantees strength and resistance even under heavy use”.

New large, machined plastic covers are designed not only to shield the hands from impacts and debris, but also to protect the levers and pump assemblies from impacts or falls.

A detail which is applicable more for those who ride the bigger bikes in more technical terrain is the lower part of the cover featuring a flexible insert that absorbs accidental contact with the knees you might encounter while riding.

The kit includes a removable upper extension that helps deflect air, rain, and dirt for more comfort, especially on longer trips or in difficult weather conditions.

Fitment is easy enough and can be used with standard or aftermarket grips. The standard components and hardware make installation simple and doesn’t compromise stability and reliability or require modifications to your bike.
