British control cable manufacturer Venhill has released a new range of throttle cables for single cable operated two-stroke KTM/Husqvarna/GASGAS XC (and motocross) models claiming to improve performance, durability and a smoother action.

The design team at Venhill say they had to develop special hybrid core wire to cope with the ‘wheel’ fitting used by KTM Group to guide the cable to the throttle on two-stroke models fitted with single cable operation.

The new wire is wound in the opposite direction to regular cables, which is necessary to reduce friction where it bends bend round ‘wheel’ fitting.

The new throttle cables are a direct replacement for the OEM KTM, GASGAS and Husky parts and promise improved performance and durability along with smoother action for a quick and easy upgrade that can make a massive difference to performance and reliability.

Each cable is made to Venhill’s established high quality Featherlight specifications: marine-grade stainless steel inner wire and a PTFE 'teflon' liner, to minimise friction, for a lighter action and reduced the need for regular lubrication.

They’re also ‘Bird-caged' which Venhil describe as a special process which allows solder to penetrate the weave of the cable, making the bond with the nipple much stronger and so less vulnerable to detaching/breaking.

Fitments are available for the KTM/Husqvarna and GASGAS XC/MX 125, 150 and 250 models from 2021-on. Kids bike fitments are for the KTM/Husky and GG 50, 50 Mini, 65 and 85, also 2021-on.

Cables are available in black, orange and blue options to match KTM and Husky factory colours. Other colours are available, to suit personal taste or for matching to team liveries, and Venhill cables can even be ordered with extra length, for custom set-ups.

Cost: £33.86
