The Bassella Race is gearing up for its 2025 edition, which will take place on February 15 and 16 in the iconic town of Bassella, Lleida – registrations open this weekend, December 1.

Famous for unofficially opening the Spanish (at least) enduro season, and attracting some of the biggest names in our sport to a small town in north Spain, Bassella Race is on course for another bumper edition in 2025.

Attracting those big names for a season warm-up can usually mean one of the first occasions we get to see riders in the new livery and bikes in a season.

The races, which includes classes for just about anything with two-wheels, splits races across the weekend, with a Saturday Extreme race grabbing the headlines usually but Sunday’s main races bringing the enduro riders and fans in their 1000s.

New Features for 2025

This year’s Bassella will be split the popular Saturday Trail Race into three different categories – Light Trail, Medium Trail, and Maxitrail which has previously riders such as featured Pol Tarres and Antoine Meo – each with its own podium and independent classification.

For all those superstars who often turn up for the Saturday Extreme and then don’t race the main event, the organisers have bumped up cash prizes for the top five scratch riders on Sunday’s race too.

The Kickoff to the Enduro Season

While not the first race of the year—other events like the National Hard Enduro or Cross-Country championships take place earlier—the Bassella Race is traditionally considered the official start of the enduro season.
