2026 Italian Enduro Results: Rnds 5+6 Verona and Freeman Share the Wins in Caltanissetta
Results from 2026 Italian Enduro Championship rounds five and six in Caltanissetta where Red Bull KTM's Andrea Verona walks away with the leader's red plate after sharing victories with Brad Freeman.
EnduroGP protagonists Andrea Verona (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and Steve Holcombe (Team Sherco CH Racing) and Brad Freeman (Beta Factory) continued on from Sicili last weekend to Caltanissetta, the third weekend of the Assoluti FMI d'Enduro, rounds five and six of the 2026 Italian Enduro Championship.
It was another weekend of GP big-hitters trading test times, including Zach Pichon (Friday Super Test winner on the TM Boano Factory), Nathan Watson (Beta Factory), who finished third three times, and Morgan Lesiardo (Triumph Racing Italia), who took both second and third in various special stages. Samuele Bernardini (Honda – Honda Racing Red Moto), Hamish Macdonald (Sherco – Team Sherco CH Racing), and Albin Norrbin (Husqvarna – NSA Motors Racing Team) occasionally popped into the top five on the special tests, but that was it.
The contest for the day one win in Caltanissetta was between Holcombe and Verona with the British rider taking the lead after the second special test of the day, the Extreme Test, and remained there until the end of the third lap.
At the start of the fourth and final lap, Verona had a 1.48 lead, which he quickly lost, slipping back to second place at the end of the Enduro Test, 4.16 seconds behind Holcombe. The Extreme Test – the penultimate special stage of the day – ended up in the hands of Freeman, but Verona grabbed second place, while Holcombe crashed, finished 22nd to relinquish the chance of victory.
Verona emerged from the final special fastest of all, securing his first overall win of the 2026 season 10.86 seconds ahead of Holcombe, with Pichon third at 20.93.
Brad Freeman had an up-and-down day, finished fourth, more than 20 seconds behind with teammate Watson fifth.
Sunday repeat from Freeman
Day two, much like day two at the GP seven days ago, saw Freeman get his act together and bring the challenge to Holcombe and Verona.
Like day one it was Verona, Freeman, Holcombe and Pichon as protagonists and when the riders entered the final Enduro test, Freeman led by 0.7 seconds over Holcombe and 33 seconds over Verona, who won the ET3 and moved into second place, 20 seconds behind Freeman.
Freeman fought back in the Extreme Test, winning the special and edging out Verona by 2.51 seconds, extending his lead to 2.71 seconds. In the final Cross test of the day, Verona gave it his all and won ahead of Freeman, who was fourth, but only 2.29 seconds behind, which meant a decisive 0.42 seconds.
Holcombe, having led the overall standings until the second Enduro test, had to settle for third place today, 11.04 seconds behind with Watson fourth, 31.01 seconds behind his Beta teammate, and taking fifth place of Pichon by just 18 hundredths of a second.
The net outcome of the weekend is Andrea Verona leads the Asolutti points standings from Freeman and Holcombe.
