AMA West Hare Scrambles: Mateo Oliveira 2025 Champion
Overall podium at the final AMA West Hare Scrambles (WHS) round of the season in Washington State saw FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Mateo Oliveira crowned the 2025 series champion.
A consistent season meant FMF KTM’s Mateo Oliveira entered the final round of 2025 in a solid position to take home the WHS title at The Great Escape Hare Scramble in Washington.
The 23-year-old younger Oliveira brother battled for the win during the seven lap, two-and-a-half-hour race and eventually claimed P2 at the flag, which was enough to take home the championship.
Despite a hand injury that required surgery mid-season, Oliveira was the fastest rider in the 2025 WHS series with a title-winning tally which included three overall wins and two further podiums.
Mateo Oliveira: “This one feels good! I wasn’t too nervous entering this one knowing that all I needed to do was to finish, but I really wanted to win the race overall, and I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t, actually...
“I was a little too conservative at the beginning, but obviously the focus today was the championship. And it feels awesome to walk away with that one – a massive thank you to the FMF KTM Factory Racing Team and all those who support me, it’s unreal.”
The final round Great Escape hare scramble saw Jaden Dahners take the overall win ahead of the new champion with Layton Small completing the podium.
FMF RPM KTM Racing Team rider Rachel Stout went home with the Pro Women’s title with third in Bellingham, adding to her two wins on the way to the 2025 championship.
