The Kosciuszko Killer kicked off the 2024 Australian Hard Enduro Championship in spectacular fashion with Motul Sherco Hard Enduro team’s Anthony Solar delivering victory first time out back with Sherco Australia.

Over 300 competitors across the classes battled challenging conditions and a mud-soaked course for this opening round of the 2024 Aussie Hard Enduro series. The Kosciuszko Killer is a long-standing race by now but that many rider entries is a good sign for the sport down under.

In Saturday’s prologue sprint races, Solar got buried in the pack early but clawed back from a two-minute deficit to not only catch up to leader Ruben Chadwick but also overtake him and secure the victory by over 40 seconds.

Sunday’s main four-hour race saw Solar in dominant form, building a commanding lead of over 10 minutes by the end of the first lap. Despite the slick conditions, riders still had to navigate through the treacherous “Tangles” exclusive Gold-class section.

Solar secured victory with only two laps completed in this year’s race, cementing his first win back on the Sherco and first since last year’s Mother of Mayhem.

“I’m stoked to get the double victories this weekend,” said Anthony. “I wasn’t happy with my results for most of last year, and I’ve put in a massive off-season to be the best prepared I can be this season, so it’s great to reap the rewards from the hard work.

“A massive thank you to the team and all of our sponsors. I couldn’t do it without them, and I look forward to carrying this momentum into Bathurst.”
