Orsa is the host city in the centre of Sweden, on the banks of lake Orsasjon with Stockholm, or Oslo the nearest major cities, both iover four hours away.
“Attracting the Hard Enduro World Championship to Sweden was something we had in our plan to achieve within five years,” says Glenn Olsson, organizer and CEO of KONG Event, which is behind the event, “and the fact that we are already being offered a place in the World Championship in the premiere feels absolutely fantastic, almost unreal. I am really looking forward to seeing Manuel Lettenbichler, Billy Bolt and other world stars compete with us on Swedish soil.”
“We are really excited to welcome Forza Orza to the 2026 World Championship calendar.” says Ross Whitehead, Championship Director for the Hard Enduro World Championship. “Sweden has a passionate fan base and a terrain that will deliver a unique and brutal test of skill for our competitors. A new event in Sweden not only strengthens our global presence but also reinforces our commitment to expanding the sport.”
“The fact that the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship is now coming to Sweden is an important recognition for Swedish motorsport. It shows that we have both the competence and the conditions to organize world-class events. Svemo looks forward to, together with the organizer, welcoming the world's best riders to Dalarna in 2026.” Says Jonas Gustafson, Chairman of the Swedish federation, Svemo.
Traditional enduro lays the foundation
In addition to a new Hard Enduro race planned next August, they also plan a new traditional enduro race is also being planned.
The format of the race is three hours with a course that will suit all riders – in August 2025 a test race was run at the facility, which received good marks from the riders, especially regarding the varying course and terrain.
“Forza Orza is basically based on a larger lap race for the large mass of enduro riders, and here we really want to create something new and exciting that suits all levels of riders. The goal we have set is to be Northern Europe's largest enduro festival within five years.” Says Glenn Olsson.
“It’s really great that we are finally getting a Hard Enduro World Championship in Sweden – and extra great that it is landing in Orsa, where not many enduro competitions are normally arranged. The lap race that is run directly next to it will also be an extra spice and actually gives all enduro riders the chance to experience the fantastic surroundings around Orsa Grönklitt.” Says Tomm Holm, convener of Svemo Enduro.
