The 24MX MiniEnduro European Cup, the under-16 championship in Europe headed to Monteils, France for round two with a double victory across two days for Emerick Vergote.

The second round of the 24MX MiniEnduro European Cup in Monteils, in the heart of southern France saw young riders up to the age of 16 tackling two special tests with four laps on day one and three on day two.

Les 2 Vallées Motoclub organised the race with the first special, a 1.5km Cross Test, on a grass field but ending in a more technical section of single tracks with rocks that put technical skills to the test.

The Enduro Test saw riders again start on a grass field but move into a forest with a technical single track for a couple of minutes before popping back out then ended for a further fast stretch on a grass field.

Vergote excels on home soil

Leading the pack on both days was French rider Emerick Vergote, who secured not only the overall victory but also the win in the 125 Mini class ahead of Italian Pierpaolo Mosca second and Gioele Scibilia in third.

The 50 Mini class has equally been dominated by Davide Cabass who claimed his fourth consecutive victory this season, outpacing Nicolò Mancinelli on both days.

The Junior class saw Cristian Marioli, Evan Moschetti, and Duccio Giraldi take the podium.

Charlene Boudon reclaimed the top spot in the Women (should be girls, no?!) 125 Mini class, finishing ahead of Pauline Nicon and Athena Magliolo with day one winner, Jean Satine, sadly retiring due to a fall in the first special test.

The female Junior class saw an exciting battle with Anika Dal Pezzo winning by five seconds on day two over her compatriot Sofia Chermaz with Michelle Sinigaglia completing the podium.

Sporting spirit was again the prevailing atmosphere at 24MX MiniEnduro European Cup second event of the season.

The final round is scheduled for August 9-11 in Meltewitz, Germany with three days of racing, starting with a prologue on Friday evening in EnduroGP race format-style.
