Official: Billy Bolt Has More Lean Angle Than Marc Marquez
Billy Bolt shows SuperEnduro skills beat MotoGP mastery with unreal display of bike control for a lean angle of 75 degrees versus Marc Marquez’s record of 70.8 degrees.
As the reigning MotoGP World Champion, and the rider who has advanced modern riding technique to a degree (pun intended) where elbows and sometimes shoulders hit the ground, Marc Marquez is quite obviously the benchmark when it comes to how much you can lean a motorcycle over while riding (without crashing).
But hold it right there MotoGP and Marquez fans, we have our own multiple world champion who is pushing the boundaries of riding technique in his dominance of SuperEnduro.
Enter stage left William Bolt who last weekend put one in the eye of that MotoGP fella by recording a lean angle of a whopping 75 degrees in a corner during practise for round five of the 2026 SuperEnduro World Championship in Belgrade, Serbia.
That compares against a widely reported 70.8 degrees recorded by Marquez at the turn 10 during the Australian Grand Prix in 2019. For reference, MotoGP bikes typically achieve around 60-65 degrees of lean angle in racing.

Alright, Bill has a bit of a rut to push against but his Michelin enduro tyres have a vastly different contact patch to a MotoGP slick, plus quite obviously dirt and asphalt offer quite different levels of adhesion.
The measurement is taken from upright and by our eye and is in no way scientific. BUT it clearly shows Billy hitting 75 degrees, well past that of any record amount Marc Marquez can muster. Furthermore, the record boasted by MotoGP Marc was for a near crash which saw him on the grass, so it doesn’t count.
Proof, were it needed, that dirt bikes are better. You know it Marquez.
