French manufacturer Electric Motion reveals EP01 Enduro prototype working in collaboration with Yamaha to bring new model to the off-road market.

At the end of 2025 Yamaha unveiled the YE-01 Racing Concept at the Milan show, co-developed with Electric Motion. This came on the back of major investment from Yamaha into Electric Motion and a collaboration which means the French manufacturer is able to develop new models and expand its business.

That Yamaha prototype caught our eyes but not as much as the EP01 enduro prototype which went on display (partially at least) at the Lyon motorcycle show last month.

If you don’t know, the EM trials bikes are 15 years on this earth already and production models are equipped with a mechanical clutch and a four-speed gearbox, tuneable via the EM Connect app and compete at the highest level of the Trial World Championship.

Mindful that enduro is very much not trials, EM add development of the EP01 model is focusing on endurance, power delivery and intelligent power management as they aim to “help redefine the standards of the segment”.

Electric Motion say they are not approaching enduro as a new experimental playground, but as the “natural evolution of its DNA” and adopting their principle; “before being electric, an EM must first and foremost be a motorcycle”.

To that end the new enduro model development will have chassis performance, suspension and overall balance aiming “to deliver the sensations expected from a true enduro machine”, they add.

Development continues and you can stay connected for the next steps including the opening of pre-orders at the link below.
