Husqvarna has announced a new generation TC 85 with an all-new chassis with improvements to handling and stability, and a new engine boasting more bottom to mid-range power.

Updates to the 85cc two-stroke off-road models in the world seem to few and far between. But as the emissions laws close in around us, and speculation of Husqvarna Mobility ceasing production of two-strokes, they’ve quashed the rumours with an updated screamer with a carburettor.

Boasting an all-new chassis with improvements to handling and stability, a new engine with more bottom to mid-range power, new WP shock, swingarm, and ergonomic bodywork and new graphics the TC 85 has had quite the make-over.

Chassis changes

Husqvarna say the 2025 TC 85 has a new frame with new geometry which “considerably improves handling and stability”, mirroring the construction of the full-size machines, the new WP XACT shock, 16mm shorter travel than before, mounted on the upper frame tube.

This design creates a more planted feel for the TC 85 they say, a huge benefit on rough tracks and big jumps.

The steering head angle is reduced by a half degree also and positioned 6mm closer to the centre of the chassis for enhanced cornering, especially when exiting turns.

New motor

The 85cc, two-stroke engine claims stronger power in the low to mid-range without sacrificing top-end performance thanks to a new cylinder head, spark plug, ignition, and exhaust, with the settings inside the Keihin carburettor adjusted to suit.

Husqvarna say when compared to the outgoing model, the new engine is rotated three degrees upwards at the front, pivoting from the mounting point at the swingarm, distributing weight more effectively to help improve cornering and jumping.

The swingarm itself is new and 300g lighter thanks to a new casting process. Together, the new frame, WP XACT shock, and swingarm combine to reduce the overall height of the TC 85 too.

Alongside new bodywork, young riders can move around on the TC 85 much more easily, they say, there’s a new rider triangle created by the new footrests, handlebars, and lower seat.
