Brad Freeman bosses 2023 British Enduro Championship Rnds 3+4 in Yorkshire
Brad Freeman sticks in another 2023 British Enduro Championship double victory at rounds three and four in North Yorkshire – Etchells and the McCanney’s fight for the podium places.
Brad Freeman continued his 2023 season success on home soil with two convincing day wins at rounds three and four of the 2023 ACU Redline Motorcycles British Enduro Championship. The Beta Factory rider has changed tack this year to be at home more for training and racing and it is paying off with a string of wins.
The two day meeting at Helmsley ran in sweet conditions on the large, North Yorkshire venue with six tests in total each day pitching riders through the trees and open moorland.
Freeman’s flying right now and the win never looked in doubt from the first test each day. Victory on both days came by more than a minute with no-one else able to match his pace.
A best-of-the-rest battle raged between Jamie McCanney, Danny McCanney and Jed Etchells and it was Beta UK Apico Factory Racing rider Danny who claimed P2 on day 1 by just two seconds from Jamie.
Fourth on day one, Jed Etchells upped his game on day two for runner up position behind the all-conquering Freeman, although the gap was still by over a minute at the finish.
Danny McCanney claimed the final scratch podium place with a duff fifth test costing Jamie his chance of a repeat of his day one result.
It was double day wins all the way as class victories went to Ross Danby in the Experts, Charlie Chater in the U21, Ben Clarke U23, Jack Keenan took the Youth victory, Bob Moyer the Clubman, Elizabeth Tett both days in the Women, John Shirt took the O40 and last but certainly not the least, Andrew Reeves stood on top of the Over 50 podium.
