Danny McCanney to race 2023 British Enduro Championship and Vets Motocross of Nations with Apico Factory Racing and Beta UK. Don’t call it a retirement!

After a glittering professional career which included winning two Junior World Enduro Championships, and countless podiums at world level, Danny McCanney will look to add to his already three British Enduro Championship crowns with Apico Factory Racing and Beta UK.

Danny’s relationship with the off-road parts distributors Apico which goes right back to the Manxman’s early career where Apico supported him with brands such as Arai helmets and Leatt Protectives.

McCanney’s 2023 season will include the full British Enduro Championship plus he’s pencilled in to ride for Team Isle of Man at the Vets des Nations motocross event in the summer (alongside David Knight).

“I’m looking forward to a season without the pressure of the world stage,” says McCanney on his new domestic outlook, “and to having fun whilst performing my best to get results for my sponsors and supporters. I’d like to thank Dylan at Apico and John at Beta UK for their belief and the support that they have offered. I’m looking forward to putting in strong performances at the races and going for another British Enduro title”.

Beta UK’s adds John Lampkin: “Having supported Danny in the past, I admire his work ethic and professionalism, it was nice to have him contact me and choose Beta to challenge for the British Enduro title in 2023. I look forward to seeing him ride and go for another British Championship.”

Brands confirmed on board include Apico Factory Racing, Arai Helmets, Beta UK, Leatt Protectives, Michelin, Polisport, Pro Taper and Twin Air with others still in the planning stages.

Apico’s Dylan Brown explains they’re hoping this will be a recipe for success in the UK this season: “We’ve helped Danny in the past and I was happy to receive his email looking to represent brands he’s used over his career. No doubt Danny has used many brands in his time on the world enduro scene, so it’s a testament to Apico and the brands we distribute that he has opted to come back and use these again.”
