Round five of the 2024 FIM Hard Enduro World Championship heads to the Red Bull Tennessee Knockout this weekend – US Hard Enduro stars mix it with HEWC title contenders.

Despite missing one round due to injury, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Manuel Lettenbichler is the rider in charge of the 2024 FIM Hard Enduro World Championship. Never yet a winner at TKO, the world champion will have plenty to prove this weekend at the Trials Training Center as he guns for more HEWC points but also one of the few major race trophies he hasn’t got his hands on.

The HEWC season has been a strong one despite Letti’s performances and points lead. Wade Young has also taking a race victory at round three and the Sherco teammates Teo Kabakchiev and Mario Roman pushing each other hard in a bid to better the KTM rider.

This weekend also sees the finale of the US Hard Enduro season and things are close between Trystan Hart and Cody Webb as they take it to the wire. With victory at the Donner Hard Enduro last weekend, plus a electrical issue costing Webb valuable points, Hart has the upper hand with a 10 point lead.

Both are multiple winners of TKO (three for Hart and Webb the winningest-ever with six) and will surely be creating chaos in mixing the USHE and HEWC series’ in the same race.

Packed race weekend format

Kicking off the action in Tennessee, downtown Nashville will play host to the straight rhythm-style Red Bull Tennessee Knockout prologue on Lower Broadway Street.

Heading back to the Trials Training Center in Sequatchie, TKO gets down to business on Friday afternoon and Saturday with a series of qualifiers for the 500 amateur riders, followed by the Pro Hot Lap which determines the starting position for Sunday’s TKO Race #1. (HEWC Championship points are awarded to the top three qualifiers in the Hot Lap – not the prologue, take note). 

Sunday presents riders with a full-on day of hard enduro, featuring three knockout-style races where only the top finishers riders make it through each leg to the sprint-style, 35-minute-plus-one-lap final. The goal is simple – to complete as many laps of the demanding course as possible.
